Fully On-Site Tips

Are you a fully on-site work environment? We are too here at The Personnel Consulting Group. What are some ways you can try to make a more traditional environment like this attractive in a world of hybrid and remote shops?

– Be flexible! Bad weather? Allow your team to leave early or WFH so that they know that you are putting their best interests and safety first. Someone has a family need? Let them take care of it without charging them time away.

– Increase PTO offered to your team. It’s great from a transparency and messaging standpoint that yes, we work every day in the office, but we can offer flexibility by offering more PTO than hybrid roles. This way they get large chunks of time away as well.

– Make it worth their time and effort to come in! Cultivate an atmosphere where there is synergy and team members can learn from leaders. Many professionals don’t realize how much they benefit from being around others, but make sure you are at least delivering on those opportunities.

– Hire people that it’s a joy to be around! You don’t always have control over this, but definitely do the best you can to hire people you like to spend time with. I can genuinely say that I would enjoy getting to hang out any time with anyone in our organization.

– Make the office environment as aesthetically enjoyable as you can- renovate, paint, and make it feel personal! Plants help too.

– It may seem small, but offer great amenities to your team. Filtered water and good coffee go a long way! One of our team member’s kids fight over the “work ice” she brings home in her tumbler. We even have someone who comes to our office from down the hall on our floor because we have better water!

In short, make sure your office environment adds value for your team in order for it to make sense for them to see the value of being present daily with your organization.
