PCG has partnered with our high-growth, high-potential construction client seeking a detail-oriented, on-site Payroll Specialist to join their team in Baton Rouge. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant weekly payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Execute weekly payroll, manage wage garnishments, deductions, benefit contributions, and complete year-end W-2/W-3 processing.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws, including certified payroll. Generate labor statistics and payroll reports for management and government agencies.
  • HRIS & System Maintenance: Review HRIS workflows for accuracy, maintain detailed payroll records, and update system earnings/deduction codes.
  • Support & Training: Resolve employee payroll issues promptly and train staff on accurate weekly time submission.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive payroll experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll/financial software is required; experience with Viewpoint Vista is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance and accounting principles.
  • Pre-employment: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening; must possess valid identification.
