Railroad Construction Superintendent

Job Type: Full-Time

We are currently seeking a qualified superintendent for a well-established, railroad-construction company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rail construction, proven leadership skills, and a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train crews on work procedures and safety practices
• Schedule crews and daily job assignments to meet project timelines and client expectations
• Collaborate with foremen to plan and prepare for upcoming projects
• Conduct regular job site visits to monitor progress, productivity, and adherence to safety standards
• Identify and report potential hazards, and ensure prompt corrective actions are taken
• Lead and enforce all company safety regulations and protocols
• Document and report disciplinary actions to the area manager
• Coordinate with the area manager on scheduling jobs and managing material deliveries
• Organize and lead safety meetings (S.T.E.P.S.) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews
• Ensure all team members wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Perform at least 12 safety inspections per month (e.g., job sites, trucks, track, tools)
• Review and verify crew timesheets, JSAs, and inspection logs for accuracy
• Coordinate equipment and material deliveries to job sites
• Maintain daily communication with foremen to support job progress and resolve any issues

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a superintendent in railroad construction preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Deep understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations
• Ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed
• Strong commitment to team development and customer satisfaction
