The Lead Electrical Estimator plays a crucial role in managing, estimating, and organizing bids for various commercial projects, ranging from small to large-scale, with oversight from the Chief Estimator. Key responsibilities include:

– Estimating labor and material costs for upcoming commercial projects valued between $2 million to $10 million, based on detailed project takeoffs.

– Conducting a thorough electrical material take-off from bid documents.

– Understanding job-specific specifications and scope requirements.

– Monitoring and managing bid schedules, meetings, walk-throughs, and any changes in addendums.

– Maintaining regular communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project deadlines are met.

– Collaborating with the Chief Estimator and Vice President of Preconstruction to relay project details in a timely manner.

– Establishing relationships with project management teams to facilitate a seamless transition from preconstruction to construction phases.

– Participating in meetings with contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to grasp project needs.

– Offering guidance and peer review to estimators and junior estimators in preparing takeoffs, proposals, and bid-related documentation.

– Supporting business development and marketing efforts as required.

– Fulfilling additional assigned responsibilities as necessary.

This role demands meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of commercial projects. 

Seeking a skilled electrical professional with a strong foundation in the field. Key qualifications include:

– Knowledge of electrical methods, safety standards, and best practices.

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

– Strong mathematical and estimating skills.

– Familiarity with on-screen takeoff software like ProCore, Accubid, ProEst.

– Ability to interpret construction documents and blueprints.

– Proven track record of managing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

– Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented approach.

– Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.

– Effective collaboration with team members, management, and clients while upholding company policies.

Minimum Requirements:

– High School Diploma or equivalent.

– Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent.

– Alternatively, 4+ years of construction-related experience can substitute for a formal apprenticeship.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Over 4 years of experience in the electrical construction industry.

– Associate degree in Electrical Technology or a related field.
