Controller, Construction Industry
Salary $130-175k + bonus
SUMMARY:
The Controller will oversee the financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementation of financial controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position plays a crucial role in supervising the accounting team and contributing to the company’s financial strategy. The Controller will work closely with the CFO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
· Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals and the operational needs of large-scale industrial projects.
· Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls. Ensure compliance with GAAP, and other regulatory standards.
· Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and ensuring the team is equipped to meet evolving financial regulations and operational demands.
· Serve as one of the liaisons with external auditors, manage the audit processes, and address any findings.
· Oversees functions including accounting, budgeting, auditing, cash management, company-issued credit cards, payroll, asset management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, etc.
· Collaborate with other departments to support the financial aspects of project execution, ensuring resource allocation meets operational goals.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA highly preferred.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a similar role (Controller, Accounting Manager, Director of Finance, etc.).
· Strong understanding of financial regulations, corporate finance, and capital markets.
· Exposure to mergers & acquisitions is helpful.
· Expertise in Construction, industrial services or the EPC sector is highly preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
· Proficient in financial management software, including ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Vista, Procore), and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
