SUMMARY:

Multi-entity company seeks seasoned, mature, Accountant (Prefer CPA) to oversee daily activities of a long-standing group of companies.

Work closely with owner to present and advise on financial operations.

This is a hands-on, “On-site” position in a small corporate office. Some flexibility allowed including work from home on occasion as needed.

Light travel to visit various entities could be required at times. Very little overnight.

Duties:

• Handle all phases of Corporate accounting process, with one assistant in house; Entities each have their own accountants at other locations.
• Oversee and direct accountants at all outside subsidiary entities.
• Consolidation of all final general ledgers and financial statements.
• Payroll and payroll taxes.
• Obtain full understanding of all operations of accounting software system and interface with software provider.
• Annual audit of corporate consolidated financials – prepare worksheets, etc. and work with outside accounting firm.
• Oversight of 401k plan and some other benefits.
• Oversee annual workman’s comp audit for all entities.
• Responsible for any outside audits of entities – sales tax, income tax, etc.
• Strong analytical skills and communication skills with constant reporting to owner.
• Troubleshoot and oversee all problems, questions, transactions, etc. for all entities and ownership.
• Transmittal of tax information to outside CPA for preparation of all Federal and state tax returns for entities and owner.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of solid GAAP experience.
• Accounting degree Required unless CPA; highly prefer CPA.
• Solid accounting systems experience along with strong Excel skills.
• Ability to work with owner and managers at subsidiary companies.
• Organized, focused, intelligent, business leader.
• Basic understanding of corporate tax issues.
• Previous auditing experience helpful.
