Civil Estimator

We are working with a well established heavy civil contractor specializing in underground utilities looking for an experienced estimator. The Civil Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for underground utility and sitework projects. This role analyzes plans and specifications, develops detailed quantity takeoffs, and collaborates with operations to ensure successful project handoff.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in underground utilities, earthwork, and civil infrastructure construction, along with a deep understanding of means and methods in heavy civil construction.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
- Direct experience estimating underground utilities is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of underground utility construction methods, soil conditions, and production rates.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar platforms).
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications.
