Staff Accountant

PCG has partnered with our high-growth, high-potential construction client seeking a detail-oriented, on-site Accountant to join their team in Baton Rouge. Reporting to the Controller, this professional will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, executing month-end processes, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and analyze data to identify trends, variances, and risks.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and support both internal and external audits.
- Collaborate across departments to provide financial insights and drive process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (construction industry experience is highly preferred).
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency preferred in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Vista) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.
